MDS was founded in 1965 to provide warehousing services to UAC’s merchandising division. The company has evolved to become a trusted third-party logistics provider. MDS offers a complete suite of outbound logistics and supply chain services. It operates through three strategic units:
1. Warehousing – 51 warehouse locations with an increased focus on managing client-owned locations
2. Haulage – served with a mix of company owned and leased vehicles
3. Distribution – services are typically short-and medium-haul transportation and are served with medium chassis vehicles and pick-up trucks with up to 12-ton capacity
UAC owns MDS in partnership with Imperial Logistics, a leader in the provision of logistics services
